covid-19 update

Dear friends of Wesley College,

I wanted to update you on the status of the pandemic in Tanzania.

As you may know, the World Health Organization (WHO) noted a four week decline in COVID-19 around the world. But, within this on-going global pandemic, we have to remember that each country and context is unique.

It has been challenging to gauge the impact on Tanzania, as the government stopped counting cases months ago. To date, it has seemed like the country has been largely spared. However, over the last several weeks the US Embassy has noted a rise in COVID cases. Currently, Wesley College is working to take the proper precautions to keep staff and students safe.
The worldwide focus for COVID-19 has turned to the race to get as many people vaccinated as possible. Tanzania has refused the vaccine until their own scientists can approve it. You can read more about that story here.

Please continue to pray for Wesley College staff and students as well as the rest of Tanzania. Our mission remains clear: to raise up faithful, servant leaders for the future of Tanzania.
