resources for churches
During a time when it is hard to travel to see what God is doing internationally, Harambe brings opportunity to see God’s light shine around the world from home. All resources are designed to help educate and engage your church family in the ministry in Tanzania. Learn how your church can donate to Harambe.
The media packet will help your church to promote Harambe. We make it easy to create newsletters, social media posts, and announcements during worship to help your church participate Harambe. Download elements below:

wesley college introductory video
This video (3.5 minutes) will help your congregation or small groups have a good overview of Wesley College and how it is fulfilling its mission through the equipping of students in Tanzania.
Wesley Choir Special Music (on video)
Your congregation or small group will have a chance to hear from the Wesley College Choir. This is a moment and opportunity to bring worship from Tanzania into your sanctuary, virtual worship space, or your congregation’s homes.
Small Group Study
Small groups will have the opportunity to do a Bible study, created by Rev. Eric Soard, that looks at the Biblical Vision and Foundation of Wesley College and missions in Tanzania. The study will include an introductory video, scriptures to dig into, and discussion questions.
Biblical Foundations of Wesley College - Isaiah 61: 1-4
Global Generosity - 2 Corinthians 8:1-15
Student Impact Stories
We all participate in missions to see people’s lives transformed by the light of Christ. Three Wesley College student stories will be provided that demonstrate the impact that the church can have when it is engaged in mission in the world. These can be shared during worship, on social media, or in small groups to help people experience the important work happening through the United Methodist Church in Tanzania.
Learn a Swahili Worship Song
We will also have a resource for a children’s moment. The Tanzania UMC Annual Conference Children's Ministry Coordinator, David Jeremiah, a graduate of Wesley College, will be on video teaching children a short worship song in Swahili. This can be used during a virtual children’s worship service, children’s moment, or Sunday School. Adults will enjoy it, too!
