Mentors

Engage in a one-on-one mentoring relationship with a 3rd year student at Wesley College with the goal of preparing them for professional work after graduation in the area of their choosing. This can include advice on professional work environments, preparing for their first job, or discerning a vocational path.

Mentors will need to be available (and flexible) for at least one hour a month for one-on-one mentoring sessions from October - June. Other opportunities will be available for those who want to do group presentations for students in areas of professional development.

Qualifications:

Be a professional in the church, non-profit, or business space with a heart for seeing others succeed.

instructors

Teach within the formal academic courses of theology, community development, or business. We seek instructors who can teach:

  • Theology

  • Community Development

  • Business Studies

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Sociology/Social Work 

  • Information Technology

 

Instructors can help with a single topic in a class or can teach several classes during a semester.

 

Location: Remote or in person

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or above in the area of instruction is required, to be approved by the head of the department.

curriculum development

Assist academic staff with developing new curriculum for Wesley College.

 

Location: Remote or in person 

 

Qualifications:

Experience with curriculum design or expertise in the specific academic area of said curriculum

business coach/trainer

Work with new enterprises who are clients of the Wesley College Entrepreneurship Center in developing their business ideas and executive capacity.

 

Location: Remote or in person

 

Qualifications:

Three to five years' experience running a business or working in business development.

servant leadership center assistance

Opportunities:

  • Help develop staff as qualified facilitators of servant leadership by providing in in-depth training on servant leadership to staff

  • Help adapt the current servant leadership material into a format that can be shared with other colleges or organizations 

 

Location: Remote or in person

 

Qualifications:

Experience in leadership with a specific understanding of servant leadership from either a faith-based or Greenleaf perspective.

database and information systems

Assist the information technology department and administrative staff in creating a student database that is integrated across multiple departments.

 

Location: Remote

 

Qualifications:

Expertise and experience in database management and/or IT (back-end or front-end coding)

volunteer coordinator

Assist the foundation executive director in coordinating logistics, preparing volunteers for work in Tanzania, and coordinating with Wesley College staff about roles and jobs.

 

Location: Remote (U.S. based) or in person (Tanzania)

 

Qualifications:

Passion for helping people find their vocation/calling; experience in international placements preferred; experience in service learning preferred.

scholarship coordinator

Assist the foundation executive director in coordinating scholarship awards and sponsorship relationships including gathering information and creating profiles for scholarship students.

Location: Remote or in person (Tanzania)

 

Qualifications:

Well organized, familiar with basic productivity software, and excited to facilitate development and transformation of young adults in Tanzania.

media/communications

Collect pictures, edit video, create attractive PowerPoint presentations and print/digital materials. Possible travel to Tanzania included.

Location: Remote or in person

 

Qualifications:

Experience in graphic design, photography editing, or video editing or in photography and video if willing to travel to Tanzania.

church cooordinator

Assist the foundation executive in maintaining relationships with church partners, facilitating communication, and tracking church partnerships.

Location: Remote

 

Qualifications:

Well organized, familiar with basic productivity software, and excited to facilitate development and transformation of young adults in Tanzania.

student activities coordinator

Assist the dean of students in developing student activities (fun and formational) for WC students.

Location: In person

 

Qualifications:

Experience working in college residency, as a program facilitator, in career development, or as a counselor.

staff training hub

Assist the human resources and information technology departments to develop an online training program for new staff or staff needing refreshers on basic orientation and college procedures.

Location: Remote or in person (Tanzania)

 

Qualifications:

Experience with Google sites or classroom, experience as a staff trainer or educator; experience in training design.
