HARAMBE ON May 8th:
Change 1 Life: Change the world
Harambe in Swahili means ‘coming together.’ It is a community action in Tanzania that shows a reliance on neighbor, friend, and family in order to be able to accomplish a common goal. Harambe, on May 8th, will be the Wesley College Foundation family’s chance to act together and show our faith in what God is doing in Tanzania through Wesley College.

May 5th kicks off a week of celebrating what YOU have already done in Tanzania!
May 5th: 1 Student: 1 Life Changed
May 6th: 1 Volunteer: 1 Community Transformed
May 7th: 1 Donor: Multiple Lives Changed
May 8th: Harambe Giving Day- YOUR chance to change history

Thursday, May 8th is our on-line giving day where we get to all come together to raise 6 scholarships for students at Wesley College. When you raise $30,000 between now and May 8th we will see 6 more lives in Tanzania transformed much like Anna's was.

Anna Migera is a 2020 graduate of Wesley College with a diploma in theology.
Anna exemplifies the impact that 1 life changed impacts so many more. She has shown girls God's redeeming love and how faith triumphs over fear. She is currently the pastor of Gamasara United Methodist Church and director of Living for Others, a non-profit in Tarime, Tanzania that works to help the community with housing, livelihood, skills training, and providing a safe space for those experiencing abuse or trauma.

Through her work at Living for Others- she helped combat the ritual practice of FGM.
"If I can protect one girl from this really bad practice-- really bad, belief and custom-- if I can protect only one girl, that I can call that it's well lived life."

Kristi's Story

Kristi McClellan has volunteered her time at Wesley College and has proved devoted in her prayers, presence, and time. She cherished the people she met in Tanzania- specifically their conversations.
Kristi showed the faculty and students the face of someone who cares about Wesley College- but more importantly- about the individuals. Kristi sees the potential for each student and has poured into them through her gift of presence.
Kristi has shown that the word "support" comes in many ways to include her resources, prayers AND her presence.

“I volunteer for Wesley College because of the truly great, uplifting work the staff and students are accomplishing”

Katy's Story
Katy Wrona, a longtime supporter of Wesley College Foundation, shares in the above video her "why" and how she has been personally blessed during her years of support.

Katy has seen first-hand how every single donation makes a difference. She has seen how coming together can change 1 life which then spreads to changing communities.

"I know that my support is just one small way for me to be a part of their mission to have fear replaced by faith."
